Miracle Mile Volunteers
Many volunteers are needed to make this event a success for all the participants.  Please review the list below and if you can donate your time on Sunday, September 27, 2009 please contact Michelle Thyen at 703-451-8881 ext 232 or email mthyen@braininjurysvcs.org
Set-up

Responsibility: Approximate Time Commitment 6:00 AM to 7:30 AM: Set up banners at registration site and beginning of Circle of Hope. 
Total Needed: 2 volunteers

Responsibility: Approximate Time Commitment 5:30 AM to 7:30 AM: Set up tables and chairs at designated site area for registration, volunteers, family fun fair, award ceremony, water station, food stations, etc.
Total Needed: 6 volunteers

Responsibility:  Approximate Time Commitment 5:30 AM to 7:30 AM:  Set up water stops on the course and water stop signs/directional/mile marker signs on the course.    
Total Needed: 6 volunteers


Pre-Registration

Responsibility: Approximate Time Commitment 7:00 AM to 9:30 AM:  Welcome participants. Check-off name on registration form and hand-out race packet and event t-shirt. Direct to start area.
Total Needed: 6 volunteers

On- site Registration
Responsibility: Approximate Time Commitment 7:00 AM to 9:30 AM:  Welcome participants. Collect money and have participants sign waiver form. Hand participates race packet and event t-shirt (if applicable). Direct to start area.
Total Needed: 6 volunteers

Awareness Fair
Responsibility: Approximate Time Commitment 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Help run any of the awareness fair activities to maintain a safe environment for all the participants.
Total Needed: 8 volunteers

Food Table and Water Station
Responsibility: Approximate Time Commitment 7:00 AM to 11:30 AM. Maintain area and cleanness. Restock food and water as needed.
Total needed: 2 volunteers

10K Route
Responsibility: Approximate Time Commitment 7:30 AM to Noon: Maintain area, cleanness. Hand water bottles to runners. Every ½ mile water station with 2 volunteers
Total needed: 8 volunteers (4 stations x 2 volunteers = 8 volunteers)

Fun Run/Circle of Hope Route
Responsibility: Approximate Time Commitment 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM: Cheer on participants and guide participants through the course.
Total needed: 2 volunteers (1 stations x 2 volunteers = 2 volunteers)

Fun Run/Circle of Hope Start Marshals and Finish Line Supporters
Responsibility: Approximate Time Commitment 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Meet and greet participants at the end of the walk/run to hand out commemorative award.  Cheer on participants and maintain area for cleanliness.  Direct walkers/runners through the course.
Total needed: 6 volunteers

Course Marshals
Responsibility: Approximate Time Commitment 8:00 AM to Noon:  Direct and cheer on participants on the course. 
Total needed: 8 volunteers
Circle of Hope Route

Clean-up and Trash Pick-up
Responsibility: Approximate Time Commitment 11:00 AM to Noon:  End of race vehicles drive around outside loop and pick up trash and water stop containers. Return trash and containers to registration area.
Total volunteers needed: 2 volunteers

Circle of Hope Clean-up
Responsibility: Approximate Time Commitment 11:00 AM to Noon:  Walk in quad area and pick up all trash and water container and return to registration area.
Total needed: 2 volunteers

Course Supporters
Responsibility: Approximate Time Commitment 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM. Cheer on participants, on both courses, at intersections around route where we do not have Marshals or water stops and at Miracle Mile mark.
Total Needed: As many as possible. However, we do not want individuals to do this if they have a desire to run/walk the race.
